Indigo Slate Gallery

Below the Indigo Slate office, I had the opportunity to manage their gallery space on the first floor. It’s been a very soul-fulfilling experience hosting shows and uplifting artists in an art scene that was coming back to life after Covid-19.

We were given a space that was ready-to-go in the heart of Pioneer Square. It’s included hard work, painting walls, designing posters, meeting and getting to know artists, and caring for our community, with the outcome being a rejuvenated space and creating a real gathering point for artists of all kinds and mediums.

Art Walk

Every first Thursday of each month, Pioneer Square hosts one of the most well-known art walks in the city. It has been so exciting to be a part of this day where people from all over come to enjoy their evening looking at art and exist this historic neighborhood. The bar has continuously been raised with each show, and it’s great to know people look forward to what we have to show with each event. We’ve had a consistently packed house, thanks to a little bit of luck, and a lot of intentional work.

My Responsibilities

While I don’t have a large part in curating the shows, I do play a major role in managing the calendar, being the point of contact, facilitating with artists on gallery access (if applicable), work drop-off, work pick-up, and I am the sole designer of all the promotional material and social content. I also photograph each show and enjoy documenting the events, and I help direct and make animation graphics for any video content we do.
